Sagres Bike Tour
Sagres Bike Tour
Visit “The End of the World” on our Sagres Bike Tour!
Our full day Sagres Bike tour starts in the Vicentine Coast National Park and explores open fields, secret beaches, cliffs and the main monuments of Sagres. Once fitted, briefed and ready, a slow paced ride across the usually windy birdwatchers’ paradise will ensue. There will be a stop in a grand secluded beach, to take in the views and the raw power of the Atlantic Ocean, while sharing some fruit and sweets. It will then be time to make our way to the famous Saint Vincent’s cape, to visit the lighthouse area. The cliff views are breathtaking, the local history rich in details, and the fortresses a must see.
This wouldn’t be a proper Portuguese cultural experience if we missed out on the local food.
Therefore, there will be a mandatory break for a full traditional fish lunch (meat and veggie options also available), including drinks, coffee, deserts and spirits.
After lunch, we’ll head (very slowly) to the iconic fortress of Sagres, taking our bikes in for a ride across history and time. Here, the salty tales come to life.
We’ll then keep riding on a sea-cliff road, going through the town center, and the local fishermen port. This epic day will come full circle shortly after, as we return to our starting point using hidden back roads.
